About Langley Wood
Langley Wood House is the Dower House on the 3,000 acre Hamptworth Estate situated in the northern part of the New Forest National Park.
The house itself which dates back to 1750 is within the nationally important Langley Wood which is designated SSSI ancient woodland. You can step out of the Edwardian luxury of the house straight on to paths and marked walks within the wood even with a rifle in your hands if that is your incination.
David and Kate have set the house up as a shoot lodge in the old style. Gun rooms, boot rooms, trophies and a wide variety of equipment we can loan you if you need it.
There are six bedrooms all en-suite and contain King Size beds (our rooms can be turned into twins) as well as antique furniture and a warm welcomefrom a sporting couple.
The Hamptworth Estate also includes a Championship Golf course, falconry, farm shop, and many regular events such as open air plays and country shows.
Dining at Langley Wood is geared towards shooting parties, groups and individual stalkers and in addition to the excellent breakfast, dinners to suit any occasion can be arranged. The house holds a 5 star rating for food hygiene and food standards.
The Hosts
David and Kate are accomplished hosts. David, following a career in the Army, is now the Area Director for England and Wales for the British Deer Society.
Kate returned to her family estate from London following work in the Luxury Travel Industry, for the Deputy Chairman of Christies, but most pertinently for four years as a Lady Clerk at Buckingham Palace. She shoots, stalks and casts a fly!
